Matt Goinz Joins From Age to Age as New Artistic Director

Artistic Director Matthew Goinz comes to From Age to Age in the midst of a burgeoning musical career. Entering his second year with acclaimed professional men’s ensemble, Cantus, with whom he has made choral and solo appearances at Lincoln Center, The Barns at Wolf Trap, Houston Friends of Music, the Ordway Theatre, and can be heard on public radio programs such as “Performance Today” and “A Prairie Home Companion”. Goinz has premiered commissions by well-known composers such as David Lang, Libby Larsen, Dale Warland, Roger Treece, and Ysaye Barnwell. He maintains a rigorous national and international touring schedule with Cantus as singer, tour manager, and communications facilitator, fostering relationships with other performing arts organizations throughout the region and across the country.

A native of northern Minnesota, Goinz has collaborated with a number of arts organizations in Minnesota and Arizona as a conductor, vocalist, coach, and pianist. Also an experienced church musician, he has served as a Director of Music, cantor, and section leader. Goinz attended Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, and Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minnesota, and completed his Master’s Degree in Choral Conducting at the University of Arizona in Tucson.
